What we say and do is under constant scrutiny.
Whether it’s the phone in someone’s pocket or a GoPro capturing the action downtown or a business monitoring its on-premises activity, cameras are everywhere and capturing our every move.
Sometimes we slip up and say or do something that gets caught on someone’s camera by accident. Other times, we make flubs and proudly post them on Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Tumblr, or Facebook for the world to see without thinking of possible repercussions.
We’re developing a presentation based on the realization that cameras are always on, mics are always hot, and we are all under a microscope. We want your help.
We are looking for anecdotes or examples of social media posts/photos/text exchanges/screen captures that got someone in trouble or made you bury your head in your hands while saying, “Oh, wow. They REALLY shouldn’t have done that.”
We would like to be able to use these as examples of what NOT to do.
If you send us photos or screen caps, we’ll blur or black out anything that could identify the person or people. If you send us anecdotes, we’ll change the names and locations to protect identities, too. We want to help people learn from others’ mistakes so they don’t have to learn the hard way just because they didn’t think.
