To keep its ISO rating (the rating used to determine property insurance premiums across the country), a fire district needed to build a new station. Its county council was initially unwilling to support approval for a bond to purchase it.
Working with TMPR, the district presented its situation to local media outlets who took turns broadcasting the story about once a month.
The district then worked with TMPR to conduct a community meeting attended by roughly 150 area residents. By the end of the meeting, only six people spoke against the station.
The district enlisted the support of residents who spoke in favor of the project and had them address the local county council at each meeting until the vote was taken.
The measure passed, the bond was approved, and the district got its station.
